MARJORAM
A woody-herbal scent that relaxes and helps you fall asleep. It relieves migraines, muscle and joint pain. It supports the body during colds and flu.
Marjoram oil 100% essential Nanga
Marjoram oil is obtained from marjoram (Origanum marjorama), also known as marjoram. This plant occurs naturally in the Mediterranean region and in Hungary and Iran. We can meet it during holidays in Southern European countries, walking on the beach. Marjoram often grows there in clumps accompanied by thyme and oregano.
This herb was cultivated long ago by the Greeks and Romans, for whom marjoram was a symbol of love, joy and beauty. According to Roman mythology, it was brought to Earth by the goddess Venus to remind people of her beauty. In ancient Greece, marjoram shoots placed under a maiden’s pillow were supposed to send her future husband in her dreams. In both of these cultures, wreaths of marjoram and other herbs were used to decorate the temples of newlyweds during the wedding ceremony. In medieval times, marjoram was used as an amulet protecting against illness, spirits and evil spells. To ensure protection, it was grown in gardens, hung on doors or carried with oneself.
Marjoram was of course also an important spice and medicinal plant. The inhabitants of Mediterranean countries used it in their folk medicine. Marjoram infusions were recommended for digestion and flatulence, as well as for nervousness, irritability and hyperactivity. Ground herb mixed with honey was consumed in infections to soothe coughs and sore throats. The aroma of fresh, crushed leaves was also inhaled, which made breathing easier.
The use of marjoram oil will aid in the treatment of respiratory ailments, including asthma, colds, sinusitis and bronchitis. Warming massages with the addition of the oil will bring relief to tired and sore muscles, as well as to those suffering from rheumatism and arthritis. Massaged into the lower abdomen or back, it will bring relief from menstrual pain and will also help regulate the menstrual cycle. Adding the oil to an aromatherapy vaporizer will bring emotional peace and also alleviate insomnia.
