Tantum Verde is a spray medicine used locally for bacterial and viral infections of the mouth, throat and larynx . It has a refreshing, slightly minty taste.

It contains an active substance – benzydamine , belonging to indole non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for local and systemic use. Benzydamine is characterized by anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects and has a local anesthetic and disinfectant effect .

• Tantum Verde spray is well absorbed locally, achieving high concentrations in tissues affected by the inflamed process.
• The drug is generally well tolerated and is suitable for local treatment of symptoms of inflammation.
• A drug for use on the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat.

Tantum Verde can be used in children and adults. The use of Tantum Verde in pregnant and breastfeeding women is possible after consulting a doctor.

Tantum Verde is used to treat symptoms (pain, redness, swelling) associated with inflammation of the oral cavity and throat, i.e. in bacterial and viral infections, inflammation of the mucous membranes after radiotherapy, in conditions after surgical procedures in laryngology and dentistry as well as after intubation. If after 7 days there is no improvement or the patient feels worse, you should contact your doctor.

The active substance of the drug is benzydamine hydrochloride. 100 ml of solution contains 0.15 g of benzydamine hydrochloride.

Other ingredients: other ingredients are: glycerol, ethanol 96%, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, mint flavour composition, saccharin, sodium bicarbonate, polysorbate 20, purified water.

Tantum Verde is used by spraying the medicine onto the mucous membrane of the mouth and throat.

Dosage of Tantum Verde in children and adolescents:

• Children under 6 years of age: 1 dose of Tantum Verde (1 spray) per 4 kg of body weight, 2 to 6 times a day.
• Regardless of body weight, do not exceed 4 doses at one time.
• Children from 6 to 12 years of age: 4 doses of the medicine, 2 to 6 times a day.
• Children over 12 years of age: 4 to 8 doses of the drug 2 to 6 times a day.

Tantum Verde dosage for adults:

• From 4 to 8 doses (sprays) of the drug from 2 to 6 times a day.

Each dose of Tantum Verde contains 0.17 ml of solution.
Do not use a larger dose than recommended. Continuous treatment should not exceed 7 days, and its possible extension should be decided by a doctor.

Contraindications to the use of Tantum Verde are hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients.
