Theraflu Total Grip 500 mg, is indicated for the short-term treatment of symptoms of colds , chills and flu. These symptoms include mild to moderate aches and pains , fever , nasal congestion (blocked nose) and wet cough .
Indications
You should only take Theraflu Total Grip if you have all the following symptoms: pain and/or fever, blocked nose and a productive cough.

How to use
The medicine is administered orally. The capsules should be swallowed with water. Do not chew.
Action
Theraflu Total Grip contains three active substances:
- Paracetamol, which is an analgesic and antipyretic substance (it lowers body temperature in case of fever).
- Phenylephrine hydrochloride, which reduces swelling and nasal congestion. It unblocks a blocked nose and makes breathing easier by reducing swelling in the nasal passages.
- Guaifenesin is an expectorant that thins secretions (phlegm) and reduces the severity of a productive cough.
Dosage
In adults, the elderly and adolescents aged 16 years and over weighing 50 kg or more:
- take 2 capsules with water every 4 to 6 hours, as needed.
Contraindications
- if you are allergic to paracetamol, phenylephrine hydrochloride, guaifenesin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine,
- if you have heart disease or high blood pressure (hypertension),
- if you have diabetes,
- if you have hyperthyroidism,
- if you have closed-angle glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye),
- if you have a pheochromocytoma (a type of tumor of the adrenal glands – glands located close to the kidneys),
- if you are currently taking or have taken monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs, medicines used to treat depression or Parkinson’s disease) in the last 14 days,
- if you are taking tricyclic antidepressants,
- if you are taking beta-blockers (medicines used to treat high blood pressure and heart disease),
- if you are taking other sympathomimetic drugs such as decongestants, appetite suppressants and amphetamine-like psychostimulants.
Notes on use
Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine. This medicine can be taken with or without food.
