What is Starazolin Allergy and how does it work?
Starazolin Allergy is an antiallergic drug used for the eyes. Its action is to reduce the intensity of allergic reactions.
What are the indications for use of Starazolin Allergy?
The drug Starazolin Allergy is intended for the treatment of eye symptoms (itching, tearing, redness, swelling of the eyelids and conjunctiva) in patients diagnosed with seasonal allergic conjunctivitis.
The drug can only be used in adults.
Allergic conjunctivitis. Some substances (allergens), such as pollen, house dust or animal hair can cause allergic reactions, manifested by itching, redness, tearing, and swelling of the surface of the eye (without visual disturbances). These symptoms occur suddenly, are acute and transient. They are often accompanied by a runny nose and sneezing or itching in the nose and ears.
In the case of coexisting nasal symptoms (runny nose, sneezing, itching), administration of Starazolin Allergy to the eye reduces their intensity.

What does Starazolin Allergy contain?
The active substance is olopatadine (as olopatadine hydrochloride). Each ml of solution contains 1 mg of olopatadine (as olopatadine hydrochloride).
The other ingredients are: sodium chloride, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, polysorbate 80, diluted hydrochloric acid (to adjust pH), purified water.

Adults:
The recommended dose is:
- One drop in the eye or eyes, twice a day – morning and evening. Leave at least 8 hours between doses.
- The drops should be used according to the above dosage unless the doctor recommends a different dosage. If there is no improvement or the symptoms worsen within three days of starting the medicine, consult a doctor. The treatment time is up to two weeks. If necessary, the treatment can be continued for up to four months after consulting a doctor. The medicine should not be used for longer than 4 months.

Children and adolescents:
- Starazolin Allergy should not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
- Starazolin Allergy is a sterile solution that does not contain preservatives.
Before instilling eye drops:
- When using for the first time, before administering the drops into the eye, the patient should test the dropper bottle by squeezing it slowly until one drop is released from the bottle. This should be done away from the eye.
- If the patient is confident that he or she can administer a single drop of the medication, he or she should adopt the most comfortable position for administering it (he or she may be sitting, lying on his or her back or standing in front of a mirror).
Instructions for use:
- Wash your hands thoroughly before applying the medication.
- If the packaging or bottle is damaged, do not use the medicine.
- Before using the drops for the first time, unscrew the cap after making sure that the guarantee ring on the cap is unbroken. A slight resistance will be felt when unscrewing until the ring breaks.
- If the tamper evident ring is loose, remove it before using the medicine as it may fall into the eye and cause injury.
- The head should be tilted back and then the eyelid should be gently pulled downwards with the finger so that a “pocket” is created between the eyeball and the eyelid. Avoid contact of the dropper tip with the eye, eyelids or fingers.
- Apply one drop by slowly squeezing the bottle. The bottle should be gently squeezed in the middle so that the drop enters the patient’s eye. It should be noted that there may be a delay of a few seconds between squeezing the bottle and the drop being released. Do not squeeze the bottle too hard. If there is any doubt about the use of the medicine, the patient should consult a pharmacist.
- If your doctor tells you to use drops in your other eye, repeat steps 5 and 6.
- After use and before closing the bottle, shake the bottle downwards without touching the dropper tip to remove any remaining liquid from the dropper tip. This is necessary to ensure that further drops can be instilled. Close the bottle tightly immediately after use.
If the drop does not reach the eye, the instillation test should be repeated.
When should you not use Starazolin Allergy?
If you are allergic to olopatadine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
