Spirulina platensis is a cyanobacterial algae that occurs in a variety of environmental conditions. It was first isolated by Turpin in 1827 from stream water. This cyanobacterium can be found in: soil, sand, swamps, seawater, fresh and salt water lakes, tropical lakes, and even in hot springs.
This organism demonstrates an exceptional ability to adapt to various environmental conditions. However, the greatest abundance of this algae is observed in alkaline lakes with a pH of about 10. In Lake Bodou in Africa, with a pH ranging from 10 to 10.2, Spirulina platensis constitutes 80% of plankton. The abundance of the algae in lakes is also correlated with the concentration of salts in the water. With an increase in the salt concentration in the lake, a greater growth of this species of cyanobacteria is observed. In terms of continental location, Spirulina platensis is most common in Central Africa.?

Suggested use: use 2-3 times a day, mix 1 teaspoon with juice or water.
Face mask: Mix 2 teaspoons of spirulina with water to create a thick paste. Apply to face, neck and décolleté. Wash off with lukewarm water after about 15 minutes. Use 1-2 times a week. Before applying spirulina, thoroughly clean the skin surface. The mask is suitable for all skin types.
