Ribwort plantain syrup is intended for the treatment of wet cough in inflammation of the upper respiratory tract . The preparation facilitates expectoration and soothes throat irritation.
Ribwort plantain syrup is a preparation indicated in the supportive treatment of upper respiratory tract infections. The product is recommended primarily for ailments related to:
- flu;
- tonsillitis;
- sore throat;
- laryngitis.
Indications
The product is traditionally used in inflammations of the upper respiratory tract and colds.
It is also helpful in sore throat.
Active substance: Plantaginis lanceolatae herb
Composition
The product contains a liquid extract of ribwort plantain (Plantago lanceolata), the main active ingredients of which are iridoid glycosides (e.g. acubin, captol), tannins (e.g. tannin), mucus (polysaccharides), phenolic acids (e.g. protocatechoic acid) and flavonoids (e.g. apigenin, luteolin).
Iridoid glycosides have an anti-inflammatory effect in the oral cavity and throat.
Excipients: sucrose, purified water, raspberry flavour.

The product is administered orally.
- Children from 6 to 12 years: 5 ml 3 to 4 times a day.
- Adults and children over 12 years of age: 15 ml 3 to 4 times a day.
