What is Sinecod and how does it work?
Sinecod is a drug in the form of oral drops. The active substance of the drug is butamirate citrate – a non-opioid antitussive drug. Butamirate citrate has anticholinergic and bronchodilator effects, which makes breathing easier. Sinecod does not cause habituation or addiction. The drug helps to inhibit the cough reflex.
Sinecod drops are used to relieve cough in adults and children over 2 months of age.
Indications for use of Sinecod
Symptomatic treatment of cough of various origins.

Composition of Sinecod drops
The active substance of Sinecod is butamirate citrate. One ml of solution (20 drops) contains 5 mg of butamirate citrate.
The other ingredients are: sorbitol 70% solution, sodium saccharin, vanillin, benzoic acid, ethanol 96% v/v, glycerol, sodium hydroxide 30% w/w solution, purified water.
Sinecod Drops Dosage
The usual dose is:
- Children from 2 months to 1 year of age: 10 drops four times daily;
- Children from 1 year to 3 years of age: 15 drops four times daily;
- Children over 3 years of age: 25 drops four times daily.
In children aged 2 months to 2 years, Sinecod drops should only be used on the advice of a doctor.
Sinecod oral drops should not be used in children under 2 months of age.
The medicine should be used for the shortest period necessary to relieve symptoms. Sinecod should not be used for longer than 7 days without consulting a doctor.

Contraindications to the use of Sinecod
Allergic to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
