What is Oxyrin APTEO MED and how does it work?
Oxyrin APTEO MEDĀ belongs to a group of drugs called sympathomimetics, which act locally to constrict blood vessels and unclog the nose.
You should contact your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 7 days.
Oxyrin Apteo Med should not be used in children under 12 years of age.
Indications for use of Oxyrin APTEO MED
Local and temporary relief of nasal congestion caused by rhinitis.
Active substance:Ā Oxymetazoline hydrochloride
Composition of Oxyrin APTEO MED aerosol
The active substance is oxymetazoline hydrochloride 0.5 mg/ml.
The other ingredients are: benzalkonium chloride, disodium phosphate anhydrous, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, glycine, liquid, non-crystallising sorbitol, purified water.
Dosage and use of Oxyrin APTEO MED aerosol
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Adults and children over 12 years of age: the recommended dose is one spray into each nostril, up to twice daily.
The medicine should not be used for longer than 7 days without consulting a doctor.
One dose of nasal spray before bedtime should keep your nose clear throughout the night.
Contraindications to the use of Oxyrin APTEO MED
- If you are allergic to oxymetazoline or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
- If you are taking or have taken antidepressants (used to treat depression) in the last 14 days;
- If you are using other sympathomimetic decongestants;
- If you have high fluid pressure inside the eye (narrow-angle glaucoma);
- If you have recently had neurosurgery (transsphenoidal hypophysectomy or other surgical procedure involving exposure of the dura mater);
- If you have heart disease or circulatory system disease;
- If you have a dry inflammation of the nasal mucosa with the formation of crusts (rhinitis sicca).
- Oxyrin Apteo Med should not be used in children under 12 years of age.
