Indications
Indications for use:
Nasic is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of nasal obstruction in the course of colds and after nasal surgery – to stimulate the healing of the mucous membrane and improve nasal patency.
Nasic is indicated for use in adults and children over 6 years of age.
Active substance: Dexpanthenol , Xylometazoline hydrochloride
Composition
One dose of nasal spray (0.1 ml of solution, equivalent to 0.10 g) contains 0.1 mg of xylometazoline hydrochloride (Xylometazolini hydrochloridum) and 5.0 mg of dexpanthenol (Dexpanthenolum).
Excipients:
The medicinal product contains benzalkonium chloride.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Recommended dose:
Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, adults and children over 6 years of age:
one dose of the medicine in each nostril, if necessary up to three times a day. The dosage depends on the individual sensitivity and response of the patient to the medicine.
Do not use higher doses than recommended.
Period of administration:
Nasic should not be used for longer than 7 days, unless the doctor has specifically recommended continued use.
Resumption of use should only occur after a break of several days.
When used in children, always consult a doctor regarding the duration of administration.
Continuous use of Nasic may lead to chronic swelling and may eventually cause atrophy of the nasal mucosa.
Patients with increased intraocular pressure (glaucoma, especially narrow-angle glaucoma) should consult a doctor before using Nasic.
Nasic should not be used in children under 6 years of age.
If the effect of Nasic is too strong or too weak, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Directions for use:
Nasic is intended for intranasal use.

Remove the protective cap from the pump. Before first use, press the pump several times until an even mist appears. For subsequent applications, the preparation is immediately ready for use.
Insert the pump tip as vertically as possible into the nostrils and press the pump once. For hygiene reasons, wipe the pump tip after use and put the protective cap back on.

Remove the long protective cap from the spray pump. Unscrew the cap from the glass bottle and screw on the spray pump tip. Then remove the protective cap from the dispenser tip.
Before first administration, press the pump several times until an even mist is obtained.
Insert the dispenser tip vertically into the nostril and press the pump to release one dose of medication, while gently inhaling through the nose. Administer a dose of medication into the other nostril in the same way. After use, clean the dispenser tip and replace the protective cap.
The dosing pump will be ready for further use at all times for subsequent administrations.
Due to the risk of transmission of infection, the medicine package should only be used by one patient.
If you take more Nasic than you should
If you take more Nasic than you should or accidentally take it orally, the following symptoms may occur: narrowing of the pupils, dilation of the pupils, nausea, vomiting, blue discoloration of the skin and mucous membranes, including the lips (cyanosis), fever, paleness, convulsions, cardiovascular disorders, e.g. arrhythmia (increased heart rate (tachycardia), slow heart rate (bradycardia)), heart rhythm disorders, circulatory collapse, cardiac arrest, high blood pressure, lung function disorders (pulmonary edema, respiratory disorder), mental disorders. You
may also experience: drowsiness, low body temperature, slow heart rate, shock-like drop in blood pressure, apnea and loss of consciousness (coma).
If you suspect that you have taken more than the recommended dose of the drug, contact your doctor immediately. If necessary, your doctor will suggest appropriate treatment.
If you forget to use Nasic
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
Continue treatment according to the instructions for use described.

Contraindications
When not to use Nasic:
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to xylometazoline hydrochloride, dexpanthenol or any of the other ingredients of Nasic (listed in section 6),
- in children under 6 years of age,
- if the patient suffers from dry inflammation of the nasal mucosa with the formation of crusts, i.e. atrophic rhinitis (rhinitis sicca),
- after surgical removal of the pituitary gland through the nose (transsphenoidal hypophysectomy) and other surgical procedures exposing the meninges (dura mater).
Nasic contains benzalkonium chloride as a preservative and should not be used by people with known hypersensitivity to this substance.
