It grows wild in Africa, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, North and South America. In Poland, it is both a cultivated and wild plant. Thanks to the content of silymarin (flavonoglycans), it has a positive effect on the liver – hepatoprotective. It detoxifies, protects and regenerates liver cells. It has choleretic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

Drying of the raw material takes place in a winnowing machine at room temperature.
