Etracen stimulates the growth of muscle tissue mass by inhibiting the decarboxylation of amino acids and stimulating the digestion of proteins, as well as saving the metabolic amino acids and directing them to protein synthesis. It works similarly to analogous compounds developed and used for several years in breeding to stimulate the growth of animal attention.
Etracen inhibits the activity of transaminases (aminotransferase): alanine aminotransferase and asparate aminotransferase. It reduces the concentration of microsomal enzymes, including cytochrome P-450 and benzphetamine N-demethylase. Transaminases cause the transfer of amino groups between different amino acids (amino acid cores), which causes radical changes in the rate and type of metabolic pathways (catabolism or synthesis) of individual amino acids. The consequence of this is an increase in the level of alkaline phosphatase and free amino acids in the blood. This is a positive effect on metabolism, and the mechanism of the stimulating effect of isoquinoline alkaloids on body weight growth depends on it.
Etracen lowers the concentration of toxic amines in the intestines and blood, helping the liver function. Cyclic amino acids, e.g. tryptophan, tyrosine, histidine, phenylalanine, proline are not excessively broken down into amines, but are incorporated into the construction of enzymatic building blocks, which significantly improves the protein balance. By inhibiting the development of putrefactive and fermentative bacteria, the concentration of harmful amines in the intestines and blood (cadaverine, putrescine, skatole, indole) is reduced. Amines, burdening the kidneys and liver, adversely affect the growth and development of the body. Amines that are formed, especially during high-protein nutrition, additionally burden the liver and nervous system. Amines that are products of amino acids are responsible for faster fatigue of working muscles, and their presence is additionally characterized by an unpleasant smell of feces. During the use of etracen, the amino acids taken are absorbed and used for the synthesis of enzymatic and structural proteins. The active ingredients of etracen reduce the unpleasant odor of feces resulting from the decarboxylation of amino acids, fermentation and putrefactive processes. Such unfavorable processes in the digestive tract can be noticed especially when consuming amino acid and protein supplements.
The knowledge on the possibility of eliminating amines using alkaloid inhibitors is relatively new. Etracen has an anti-catabolic effect on amino acids and body proteins. When animals were given isoquinoline alkaloids contained in etracen, an increase in body weight of 7% of the final weight was observed (additional 1 kg for every 14 kg of weight)2,3,4. Due to such high effectiveness, these compounds were introduced as an alternative to antibiotic growth stimulants and coccidiostats banned since 20053. Actual results in humans are the subject of ongoing experiments.
