What is Inuprin Forte and how does it work?
Inuprin Forte contains the active substance inosine pranobex , which has antiviral and immune system stimulating effects.

What are the indications for use of Inuprin Forte?
- as a support for people with reduced immunity, in case of recurrent upper respiratory tract infections,
- in the treatment of cold sores on the lips and face caused by the herpes simplex virus. The drug can only be used in patients who have previously been diagnosed with a herpes simplex infection.
Active substance: Inosinum pranobexum
Composition of Inuprin Forte tablets
The active substance of the drug is inosine pranobex (a complex containing inosine and 2-hydroxypropyldimethylammonium 4-acetamidobenzoate in a molar ratio of 1:3). One tablet contains 1000 mg of inosine pranobex.
The other ingredients are: microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, polyvinylpyrrolidone K90, magnesium stearate.
How to dose Inuprin Forte tablets?
The recommended dose is based on the patient’s body weight. The daily dose should be divided into equal single doses administered several times a day.
Adults, including the elderly (over 65 years of age):
- The recommended daily dose is 50 mg/kg body weight per day, usually the daily dose is 3 tablets (3 g) per day (i.e. 1 tablet 3 times a day).
- The maximum daily dose is 4 tablets (4g) per day (i.e. 1 tablet 4 times a day).
Children over 1 year of age:
- The recommended dose is 50 mg/kg of body weight per day, given in several divided doses. For children who cannot swallow tablets, it is recommended to administer Inuprin Forte in syrup.
Method of administration:
- The medicine should be taken orally. The tablet should be taken with an appropriate amount of fluid, preferably water.
- If you have difficulty swallowing the whole tablet, you can crush the tablets and dissolve them in a small amount of liquid to make it easier to take the medication.
Duration of treatment:
- The usual duration of treatment is 5 to 14 days. After the symptoms have subsided, the drug should be continued for another 1 to 2 days.

When should you not take Inuprin Forte?
- if you are allergic to inosine pranobex or any of the other ingredients of this medicine,
- if you are currently having a gout attack (severe joint pain with swelling and redness of the skin or effusion in large joints) or tests have shown increased levels of uric acid in your blood.
