Ibuprom for Children Forte 100 ml

Indications

Ibuprom for Children Forte  is a drug in the form of a syrup used for pain and fever of various origins in children over 3 months of age.

The drug  Ibuprom for Children Forte  has an analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effect.

Ibuprom  for Children Forte  is used for fever of various origins (also in the course of viral infections, in the course of a post-vaccination reaction) and pain of various origins of mild to moderate intensity (e.g. headache, throat, muscle, joint and bone pain).

Composition

1 ml of oral suspension contains:

• active substance: 40 mg ibuprofen,
• excipients: sodium benzoate (E 211), anhydrous citric acid, sodium citrate, sodium saccharin, sodium chloride, hypromellose 15 cP, xanthan gum, liquid maltitol, glycerol, thaumatin (E 957), strawberry flavour (contains substances identical to natural flavours, natural flavours, maltodextrin, triethyl citrate, propylene glycol and benzyl alcohol), purified water

Composition

1 tablet contains: active substances: 200mg ibuprofen; additional substances: cellulose powder, corn starch, pregelatinized starch, Guar gum, talc, crospovidone (type A), colloidal hydrated silica, hardened vegetable oil; coating composition: hydroxypropylcellulose, macrogol 400, talc, gelatin, sucrose, kaolin, packaged sugar (mixture of sucrose and corn starch), calcium carbonate, acacia gum, white dye – Opalux White AS 7000, Carnauba wax, black ink – Opacode Black S-1-17823.

Dosage

The recommended daily dose of Ibuprom for Children Forte is 20 mg to 30 mg per kilogram of body weight, given in divided doses according to the following schedule:

• Infants from 3 to 6 months (5 – 7.6 kg):  1.25 ml 3 times a day (equivalent to 150 mg ibuprofen per day).
• Infants from 6 to 12 months (7.7 – 9 kg):  1.25 ml 3 to 4 times a day (equivalent to 150 – 200 mg ibuprofen per day).
• Children from 1 to 3 years (10-15 kg):  2.5 ml 3 times a day (equivalent to 300 mg of ibuprofen per day).
• Children from 4 to 6 years (16-20 kg):  3.75 ml 3 times a day (equivalent to 450 mg ibuprofen per day).
• Children from 7 to 9 years (21-29 kg):  5 ml 3 times a day (equivalent to 600 mg ibuprofen per day).
• Children from 10 to 12 years (30-40 kg):  7.5 ml 3 times a day (equivalent to 900 mg of ibuprofen per day).
• Adults and children over 12 years of age:  the recommended dose for symptomatic treatment of pain and fever is 10 ml 3 times a day until the symptoms disappear.

The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms. If symptoms of infection (such as fever and pain) persist or worsen, consult a doctor immediately.

There should be an interval of 6 to 8 hours between doses.

• Children under 6 months of age should only be given this medicine after consulting a doctor and should seek medical advice if symptoms worsen or if they do not subside after 24 hours.
• If in children over 6 months of age this medicine needs to be used for more than 3 days, or if the patient’s condition worsens, contact a doctor.
• Do not use more than the recommended dose of this medicine.
• The medicine is intended for occasional use only.
• Shake before use. The medicine can be administered directly or dissolved in water or juice.
• People with a sensitive digestive tract are advised to take the medicine with a meal or with milk.
• In case of accidental overdose, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
• In mild to moderate renal or hepatic impairment, dose reduction is not required.

Contraindications

Do not use Ibuprom for Children Forte:

• if you are allergic to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6) and other similar painkillers (NSAIDs),
• in patients who have ever had allergy symptoms such as runny nose, hives or bronchial asthma after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs),
• in patients with active or history of gastric and/or duodenal ulcer, perforation or bleeding, including those occurring after the use of NSAIDs,
• in patients with severe hepatic failure, severe renal failure or severe heart failure,
• in patients taking other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, including COX-2 inhibitors (increased risk of side effects),
• in the third trimester of pregnancy,
• with bleeding diathesis.
