1 pipette contains:
Fipronil 50 mg
(S)-Methoprene 60 mg
Solution for the treatment of flea infestations only or mixed infestations with fleas and lice or ticks in cats and ferrets.
Fipronil is an insecticide/acaricide belonging to the phenylpyrazole group. It kills arthropods by interacting with chloride channel ligands, especially those regulated by the neurotransmitter gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA). This blocks pre- and postsynaptic transfer of chloride ions across cell membranes, resulting in uncontrolled activity of the central nervous system and death of insects or mites. Fipronil kills fleas within 24 hours, ticks (Dermacentor variabilis, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Ixodes ricinus and lice within 48 hours of application. (S)-methoprene is an insect growth regulator (IGR) belonging to the category of juvenile hormone analogues, inhibiting the development of immature insects. The (S)-methoprene molecule imitates the action of juvenile hormone leading to disruption of development and death of individual developmental stages of fleas. The ovicidal effect of (S)-methoprene on the animal is either the result of direct penetration through the envelope of freshly laid eggs or the result of absorption through the cuticle of an adult flea. (S)-methoprene also effectively prevents the development of flea larvae and pupae, which prevents contamination of the environment in which the animals undergoing the treatment are kept by immature developmental stages of fleas.

Fleas carried by pets often live in cages, places where the animal sleeps and rests (e.g. on the carpet, soft upholstery). In the case of a massive invasion and just before applying protective measures, such places should be regularly vacuumed and sprayed with appropriate insecticides. There is no data on the effectiveness of the product after bathing/shampooing the animal in the case of cats and ferrets. However, based on information on the effectiveness in dogs that were shampooed 2 days after administration, it is not recommended to bathe cats for 2 days after administration.
