Therapeutic indications:

Treatment of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis and C. canis) in dogs for a period of at least 5 weeks. Treatment of tick infestations in dogs (Dermacentor reticulatus, Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus). A single administration eliminates ticks for up to one month. The active substance acts on fleas and ticks that have started feeding on the host.

Contraindications

Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients.

Special warnings for each target animal species

Parasites must start feeding on the host to be exposed to afoxolaner, therefore the possibility of transmission of infectious diseases from parasites cannot be excluded. During antiparasitic therapy, all animals living together should be treated with an appropriate product at the same time. All stages of flea development can be found on the bedding and in areas frequently visited by the dog, such as carpets and upholstered furniture. In the case of a large flea infestation and at the beginning of the treatment of the infestation, these areas should be treated with an appropriate product and vacuumed regularly.

Dosage and method of administration

Dosage: The veterinary medicinal product should be administered at a dose of:

• dog 2-4kg  1 tablet Frontpro 11.3mg 
• dog 4-10kg 1 tablet Frontrpo 28.3mg 
• dog 10-25kg 1 tablet Frontrpo 68mg 
• dog 25-50kg 1 tablet Frontrpo 136mg 

For dogs weighing more than 50 kg, an appropriate combination of chewable tablets of the same/different strengths should be used. Tablets should not be divided.

Method of administration:

Beef flavored chewable tablets are palatable to most dogs. If your dog does not accept the tablets on their own, they can be given with food.

Treatment regimen:

Treatment of flea and tick infestations: For optimal control of flea and tick infestations the product should be administered at monthly intervals during periods of risk of flea and/or tick infestation, based on the epidemiological situation.
