The CRP-Screen test detects the level of CRP Protein in 4 concentration ranges (from 8 to over 100 mg/L). The CRP test is used to determine the source of infection ( bacterial and viral ) – which helps in deciding on the direction of treatment. CRP also detects inflammation in the body.
The CRP-Screen test helps to apply appropriate treatment, shorten the time of fighting the disease and avoid complications after using antibiotics.
The test is also used by professionals (doctors, hospitals, laboratories). Test reliability 98%.
Action
The test is used when symptoms of infection occur (fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, diarrhea). High CRP values (over 40 mg/L) are characteristic of bacterial infections. Low or normal CRP levels most often occur in viral diseases.
Antibiotic treatment is only justified in the case of bacterial infections. Antibiotics do not work on viruses, which cause up to 90% of upper respiratory tract infections. Do not use antibiotics for cold and flu symptoms!
