What are Allergo-Comod drops?
Allergo -Comod are eye drops used in acute and chronic allergic conjunctivitis .
The active substance of the preparation is sodium cromoglycate , a substance with antiallergic action. Sodium cromoglycate, by stabilizing the membranes of mast cells, inhibits the development of allergic reactions in response to allergens. It inhibits the degranulation of mast cells, which means it prevents the release of substances that are mediators of allergic reactions, such as histamine and leukotrienes. The mechanism of action of sodium cromoglycate probably consists in blocking calcium channels associated with immunoglobulin E receptors, which inhibits the influx of calcium ions into the cell and the release of mediators. Sodium cromoglycate administered in the form of eye drops reduces the symptoms of acute and chronic allergic conjunctivitis, such as swelling and itching of the mucous membranes.
Following local administration to the conjunctival sac, sodium cromoglicate is only minimally absorbed systemically and causes virtually no systemic side effects.
