What is Acatar Acti-Tabs and what is it used for?
Acatar Acti-Tabs contains two active substances: pseudoephedrine and triprolidine .
- Pseudoephedrine reduces swelling and congestion of the nasal mucosa and paranasal sinuses, reduces the feeling of nasal congestion (unblocks the nose). Reduces the amount of nasal discharge.
- Triprolidine reduces sneezing and nasal itching.
The indication for the use of Acatar Acti-Tabs is the relief of symptoms of inflammation of the nasal mucosa, such as: swelling of the nasal mucosa and paranasal sinuses, runny nose, nasal congestion and sneezing, occurring in colds and flu. The drug can also be used on an ad hoc basis in the case of allergic rhinitis and angioneurotic swelling of the nasal mucosa. The effect of Acatar Acti-Tabs begins after about 15-30 minutes of administration and lasts for at least 4 hours.
Acatar Acti-Tabs is intended for the treatment of adults and children over 12 years of age.
Acatar Acti-Tabs indications
Relief of symptoms of rhinitis such as:
- swelling of the nasal mucosa and paranasal sinuses,
- nasal discharge (runny nose),
- nasal congestion and sneezing,
- occurring in colds and flu.
The drug can also be used on an ad hoc basis in cases of allergic rhinitis (hay fever) and in vasomotor edema of the nasal mucosa.
Active substance: Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride , Tripirolidine hydrochloride
Composition
The active substances of Acatar Acti-Tabs are pseudoephedrine hydrochloride and triprolidine hydrochloride. 1 tablet contains: 60 mg pseudoephedrine hydrochloride and 2.5 mg triprolidine hydrochloride.
Other ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, lactose, stearic acid (50), colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate.
Acatar Acti-Tabs dosage
- Adults and children over 12 years of age: 1 tablet every 6 to 8 hours.
- Do not take more than 4 tablets per day.
- The preparation should not be administered to children under 12 years of age.
- If the medicinal product needs to be used for longer than 3 days or the patient’s condition worsens, the patient should contact a doctor.
- Take orally.
Acatar Acti-Tabs contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the active substances or any of the ingredients of the preparation and sympathomimetic amines.
- Use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO) and the period up to 2 weeks after their discontinuation. Severe hypertension.
- Unstable ischemic heart disease.
- Using other medications containing pseudoephedrine or antihistamines.
- Children under 12 years of age.
- Severe hepatic and renal failure. Pregnancy and lactation.
- The antibacterial drug furazolidone is known to cause a dose-dependent inhibition of monoamine oxidase (MAO) activity. Although there have been no reports of hypertensive crisis following concomitant administration of furazolidone and AcatarActi-Tabs, these two drugs should not be used together.
