Nitrofurazone ointment 0.2%, 25 g
Nitrofurazone is an ointment for topical application to the skin. It contains the active substance nitrofural, which has antibacterial effects .
Nitrofurazone – indications
Indications for use of Nitrofurazone:
- bacterial skin infections (caused by bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Escherichia coli, Proteus sp., Aerobacter aerogenes);
- secondary infections of allergic lesions caused by bacteria;
- supportive in the treatment of burns and ulcers;
- helps prevent infections of wounds and skin grafts.
Active substance: Nitrofuralum

The remaining ingredient is: white petrolatum. |
How to use Nitrofurazone?
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The medicine is intended for topical application to the skin.
Recommended dosage:
Use 1 or 2 times daily.
A thin layer of ointment should be applied to the affected skin areas. If necessary, they can be covered with a sterile dressing.
If there is no improvement after 5-7 days or the patient feels worse, consult a doctor.

When should Nitrofurazone not be used?
Notes on use
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Store below 25°C. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the package. The expiry date refers to the last day of the given month.
Nitrofurazon can be used within 6 months from the date of first use, without exceeding the expiry date which is stated on the package.
