Himalayan cedar oil 100% Nanga essential oil
Himalayan cedar essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of Cedrus deodara wood. This tree occurs naturally in the warmer regions of the Himalayas and has an important place in the traditional healing systems of India, Tibet and Pakistan, including as a remedy for skin diseases, bacterial and fungal infections and joint diseases.
The oil has a warm, woody, sweet-smoky aroma, attributed to the base note in perfumery. It strongly resembles Atlas cedar oil, so it will be a bull’s eye for its fans. The main active compounds in Himalayan cedar oil are sesquiterpenes: alpha-himachalene and beta-himachalene, as well as sesquiterpene alcohols related to them (himachalol, allohimachalol, himadarol, centdarol and isocendarol). It is the combination of these active substances that has a huge impact on the properties of the oil.
Himalayan cedar oil has anti-inflammatory effects, especially on joints affected by rheumatism and arthritis. Massage it into painful areas and use it in warm compresses and baths.
Inhaling the oil helps fight microbes, and also soothes the nerves and calms. Enrich relaxation techniques such as yoga or meditation with it; together with olibanum oil it will be a fantastic, woody duo with a calming and relaxing character.
Furthermore, the oil is known in India as a natural and effective insecticide.
