Pink grapefruit oil 100% essential Nanga 10 ml
Pink grapefruit oil is another citrus series that we have in our offer. It is produced by cold pressing: the berry peel is processed. Its scent, as befits a citrus, is fresh, fruity, and at the same time characteristically tart, undeniably grapefruit! :) In perfumery, it is a representative of the top note, the aroma of the first impression, the most fleeting. In aromatherapy, it plays the role of a cheering agent, similarly to other citrus oils. It is worth remembering this, especially in the autumn and winter season; sometimes a few inhalations of the scent of the sun are enough (my association with sunny Italy, where the oil comes from) and the world becomes more beautiful!
The typical citrus aroma is due to its main ingredient: d-limonene; in our pink grapefruit oil there is about 80% of it. It is one of the most common terpenes in nature: it can be found not only in citrus fruits, but also, for example, in caraway oil. It is also a widely used ingredient in cosmetics, as well as in food. The high concentration of d-limonene in grapefruit oil gives it useful properties: it has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antioxidant, stress-lowering and calming effects (in studies on rats). Limonene has also shown antiviral effects against the herpes simplex virus (in in vitro studies). In addition, it can alleviate asthma symptoms.
It is worth remembering that, like other citrus oils, pink grapefruit oil is photosensitizing. After applying it to the skin, it should not be exposed to sunlight for 12 hours.
