Ketokaps Max 50 mg, 20 capsules

Ketokaps Max is a medicine that contains the active substance ketoprofen in a dose of 50 mg in each capsule.

Ketoprofen is a drug with anti-inflammatory , analgesic and antipyretic effects (it belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs – NSAIDs). The mechanism of action of ketoprofen is probably based on the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.

Symptomatic treatment of acute pain of various origins (e.g. muscle and bone pain, headache, toothache, painful menstruation) of mild to moderate intensity.

The active substance is ketoprofen. 1 capsule contains 50 mg of ketoprofen.

Other ingredients (excipients) are: macrogol 400, potassium hydroxide 50%, purified water and capsule shell composed of: gelatin, liquid, partially dehydrated sorbitol, cochineal red (E 124), purified water.

• Adults and adolescents over 15 years of age: the recommended dose is 1 capsule up to 3 times daily, every 6 to 8 hours.
• Do not exceed the recommended maximum daily dose of 3 capsules (150 mg).
• The medicine is administered orally. The capsule should be swallowed whole (not chewed), with at least half a glass of water.
• The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms. If symptoms of infection (such as fever and pain) persist or worsen, consult a doctor immediately.
• In some patients it may be advisable to take drugs that neutralize or protect the gastric mucosa in order to reduce the risk of harmful effects of ketoprofen on the gastrointestinal tract.
• Ketokaps Max should not be used in children and adolescents under 15 years of age.

• hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients;
• history of hypersensitivity reactions such as bronchospasm, bronchial asthma, rhinitis, urticaria or other types of allergic reactions to ketoprofen, salicylates (including acetylsalicylic acid) or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Severe, rarely fatal cases of anaphylactic reactions have been reported in such patients;
• third trimester of pregnancy;
• active gastric and/or duodenal ulcer or a history of gastrointestinal bleeding, ulceration or perforation;
• hemorrhagic diathesis;
• severe heart failure;
• severe liver or kidney failure.
