Ibum Forte 200 mg/5 ml, strawberry-flavored oral suspension, 100 g

Ibum Forte oral suspension is a drug for pain, fever and inflammation in children over 3 months of age. It contains high-dose ibuprofen – 200 mg ibuprofen in 5 ml of suspension. The package includes an oral syringe, which allows easy and precise administration of the drug even in small children. 

Ibuprofen contained in Ibum Forte suspension has antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.

• fever of various origins, including colds, flu and post-vaccination reactions
• pain of various origins of mild to moderate intensity, such as:

– headache, sore throat, muscle pain (e.g. in the course of viral infections),

– toothache, pain after dental procedures, pain associated with teething,

– joint and bone pain resulting from injuries to the musculoskeletal system (e.g. sprains),

– pain due to soft tissue injuries,

– postoperative pain,

– earaches occurring in inflammation of the middle ear.

The active substance is ibuprofen. 5 ml of suspension contains 200 mg of ibuprofen.

Other ingredients (excipients) are: liquid maltitol, glycerol, xanthan gum, sodium saccharin, sodium benzoate, fumaric acid, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, strawberry flavour, purified water.

The daily dose of Ibum Forte, oral suspension strictly depends on body weight and is: 20-30 mg/kg body weight in divided doses, according to the table below:

• The drug is administered orally.
• The medicine should be administered at intervals of at least six hours. In infants up to 6 months of age, Ibum Forte oral suspension can be administered only after consultation with a doctor.
• If after 3 days there is no improvement or the patient’s condition worsens, contact your doctor.
• The bottle should be shaken vigorously before use. An oral syringe is included in the package.

Ibum Forte is contraindicated:

• if you are allergic to any of the ingredients of the medicine;
• in patients with active or recurrent gastric and/or duodenal ulcer, perforation or bleeding, including after treatment with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs);
• in patients who experienced any allergy symptoms such as runny nose, hives, shortness of breath or bronchial asthma during treatment with NSAIDs;
• if you are taking other NSAIDs;
• if you have severe liver, kidney or heart failure;
• if you have bleeding in the brain or other bleeding;
• if you have a blood clotting disorder, a bleeding diathesis or a blood formation disorder of unknown origin;
• in the last 3 months of pregnancy.
