Calcium Sandoz Forte is a rich source of calcium , which is a basic mineral necessary for building and proper functioning of bones.

Indications for use:

– Prevention and treatment of calcium deficiency

– Calcium supplementation – supporting the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis

– In rickets and osteomalacia as a supplement to vitamin D3 therapy

As with all medicines, please read the following information carefully to ensure that Calcium Sandoz Forte is used correctly.

Children: one effervescent tablet (single dose) once or twice daily (equivalent to 500-1000 mg calcium).

Adults: one effervescent tablet (one dose) once, twice or three times daily (equivalent to 500-1500 mg calcium)

The effervescent tablet should be dissolved in a glass of water (approximately 200 ml) and drunk immediately after dissolving. The tablet should not be swallowed or chewed. Calcium Sandoz Forte can be taken with or between meals.

Calcium Sandoz Forte in recommended doses can be used for as long as your doctor has told you to. Because Calcium Sandoz Forte is used to prevent and treat calcium deficiency, and is used in conjunction with other medications to treat and prevent osteoporosis (weakening of the bones), treatment is likely to be long-term.

Do not use Calcium Sandoz Forte:

• if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to calcium or any of the other ingredients of Calcium Sandoz Forte
• if you have an increased amount of calcium in your blood (hypercalcaemia).
• if you have an increased amount of calcium in your urine (hypercalciuria).
• if you have kidney problems, including: kidney stones (nephrolithiasis) and calcium deposition in the kidney tissue (nephrocalcinosis).

The effervescent tablet is white, round, with a characteristic orange smell.

Calcium Sandoz Forte is available in packs containing 20 effervescent tablets.
