Axopirox, 80 mg/g, medicated nail polish, 6.6 ml

Axopirox, 80 mg/g is a medicinal nail polish . It contains the active substance ciclopirox , which belongs to the group of antifungal drugs.

Indications
Axopirox, 80 mg/g is indicated for the treatment of fungal infections of nails (onychomycosis).

Active substance: Ciclopirox

Composition
The active substance of the drug is ciclopirox. 1 gram of varnish contains 80 mg of ciclopirox. The other ingredients of the drug are: ethyl acetate, isopropyl alcohol, methoxyethene polymer with 2-butendioic acid monobutyl ester (1:1).
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. If you are not sure, check with your doctor again. This medicine is for topical use on your nails. Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, apply a thin layer of Axopirox once daily to the affected nail.

Before applying Axopirox for the first time, remove as much of the diseased nail surface as possible, for example using scissors, and as much of the calloused layer as possible using a nail file.

Throughout the treatment period, the varnish layer should be removed once a week with nail polish remover.

During such treatment, as much of the calloused layer as possible should be removed from the nail plate, always using a nail file.

If the nail polish layer is damaged between nail polish applications, simply reapply Axopirox to the areas where the polish has fallen off. The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the fungal infection, but it should not be used for longer than 6 months.

After each use of the varnish, it is recommended to close the bottle tightly to prevent the solution from drying out. Avoid contact of the varnish with the neck of the bottle to prevent the cap from sticking.

Contraindications
Do not use Axopirox:

if you are allergic to ciclopirox or any of the other ingredients of this medicine

in children, due to insufficient experience with this age group;

during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Contents: Axopirox is a colorless, transparent to light yellow solution. The medicine is packaged in an amber glass bottle with a cap equipped with a brush, in a cardboard box.
