Xylometazolin Fortis, 1 mg/mL, nasal spray, 10 ml

The active substance of Xylometazoline Fortis is xylometazoline hydrochloride.

Xylometazoline Fortis is a locally acting drug that, by constricting blood vessels, reduces nasal congestion and swelling and the amount of discharge.
For patients with a blocked nose, it makes nasal breathing easier.
The effect of Xylometazoline Fortis begins within 2 minutes and lasts up to 12 hours.

Xylometazolin Fortis is indicated for use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.

Excessive nasal congestion occurring during colds, hay fever, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis. The drug facilitates the outflow of secretions from inflamed paranasal sinuses. By reducing the congestion of the nasopharyngeal mucosa, it can be used as an adjunct in otitis media. Xylometazoline Fortis facilitates nasal endoscopy (examination of the nasal cavity).

If after 7 days there is no improvement or the patient feels worse, contact your doctor.

The active substance of the drug is xylometazoline hydrochloride. 1 ml of solution contains 1 mg of xylometazoline hydrochloride.
Other ingredients (excipients) are: benzalkonium chloride, solution, disodium edetate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium chloride, purified water.

Xylometazoline Fortis should only be used in the nose (also in cases of otitis media).

To avoid the spread of infection, one pack of the drug should be used by one patient only.

Recommended dose:
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age:
1 spray into each nostril, 3 times daily. There should be an 8-10 hour break between subsequent applications. Do not administer more than 3 sprays into each nostril per day.

Xylometazoline Fortis should not be used in children under 12 years of age.

How to use
The medicine is intended for nasal use.
Be careful not to spray the spray into the eyes or mouth.

1. Do not cut the applicator tip.
2. Remove the protective cap.
3. Before first use, press the pump 5 times. The pump will be ready for further use for the entire recommended period of use (do not use for more than 7 consecutive days). If the aerosol does not spray after pressing the pump all the way down, or if the medicine has not been used for more than 14 days, the pump should be primed again by pressing once.
4. Clear your nose.
5. The bottle should be held vertically, with your thumb pressing against the bottom of the bottle and the tip held between two fingers.
6. Tilt your head forward and place the tip into your nostril.
7. Press the pump and simultaneously inhale to ensure optimal distribution of the aerosol.
8. Repeat the steps to administer the medication into the other nostril.
9. After use, put on the protective cap.

The nasal spray allows for precise dosing and ensures proper distribution of the solution over the entire surface of the nasal mucosa.
This excludes the possibility of accidental overdose.

Xylometazoline Fortis should not be used in children under 12 years of age.

• if you are allergic to xylometazoline hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
• if you have had surgery through the nose, removal of the pituitary gland, or surgery involving exposure of the dura mater (brain surgery performed through the nose or mouth);
• if you have narrow-angle glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye);
• if you have very dry nasal mucosa (rhinitis sicca or atrophic rhinitis);
• in children under 12 years of age.
