Description
Wondfo Streptococcus A Rapid Test is a one-step lateral flow immunoassay for the qualitative detection of Group A Streptococcus antigen from throat swab specimens to aid in the early diagnosis of Group A Streptococcus infection.
Action
Group A Streptococcus is one of the most important human pathogens causing acute pharyngitis, tonsillitis, impetigo, and scarlet fever. It is very important to distinguish streptococcal infection from other etiological agents (e.g. viral, mycoplasmal, or chlamydial) so that appropriate therapy can be initiated. Early diagnosis and treatment of Group A Streptococcal pharyngitis will reduce the severity of symptoms and further complications such as rheumatic fever and glomerulonephritis. Therefore, it is worth having a home test on hand to be able to make a diagnosis at the first appearance of symptoms. When the sample is added to the sample well, capillary action causes the sample to migrate along the membrane. When the levels of Group A Streptococcus antigen in the samples are at or above the target cut-off point, a colored band is visible in the test region, indicating a positive result. The absence of this colored band in the test region (T) suggests a positive result. negative result.
To serve as a procedural control, a colored line will appear in the control region (C) if the test has been performed correctly.
How to do the test?
Allow the device and extraction reagents to equilibrate to room temperature (10°C ~ 30°C) before testing.
- Add 4 drops of extraction reagent A and 4 drops of extraction reagent B respectively to the extraction tube and mix completely. The color of the mixed liquid should become yellow.
- Place the sample extraction swab into the tube. Agitate the swab ten times. Leave the swab in the tube for one minute. Then remove the swab, squeezing the swab head toward the inside of the extraction tube as you withdraw it to remove as much fluid from the swab as possible. Discard the swab.
- Cap the tube and mix its contents by gentle vortexing. The sample must be tested immediately after extraction.
- Remove the test cassette from the sealed foil pouch by tearing the notch and place it on a clean, dry and level surface. Add 3 drops of the mixed liquid sample of the extraction tube to the sample well (with arrow mark) of the test cassette by inverting and squeezing the tube as shown.
- Wait 10 minutes and read results. Do not read results after 15 minutes.
