Indications

Indications

The indication for use of Strepsils Intensive sugar-free is the short-term symptomatic treatment of sore throat.

Composition

• The active substance is flurbiprofen (Flurbiprofenum).
• 1 hard lozenge contains 8.75 mg of flurbiprofen.
• Excipients are: macrogol 300, potassium hydroxide, orange flavour (main ingredient: glycerol triacetate (triacetin)), levomenthol, acesulfame potassium, liquid maltitol, isomalt.

Dosage

• Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
• The medicine is administered orally. The lozenges should be sucked slowly, changing their position in the mouth to prevent local irritation.
• Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 1 hard lozenge every 3 to 6 hours for a maximum of 3 days, unless otherwise directed by a doctor.
• The maximum daily dose is 5 hard lozenges.

Contraindications

• Strepsils Intensive hard lozenges should not be used in people who are allergic to flurbiprofen, acetylsalicylic acid, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or any of the other ingredients of the drug.
• Contraindications also include: gastric and/or duodenal ulcer, severe bowel inflammation, bleeding or perforation of the gastrointestinal tract, bleeding or blood formation disorders after previous use of NSAIDs, severe liver, heart or kidney failure.
• The drug should not be used in the case of previous allergy symptoms after administration of acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs or in the third trimester of pregnancy.
