Indications

Strepsils for cough is used as a complementary drug in respiratory diseases associated with excessive amount of sticky mucus, including COPD – chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Composition

The active substance of the drug is carbocisteine.

One hard capsule contains 375 mg of carbocisteine.

Additional ingredients of the capsule content: mannitol, corn starch, croscarmellose sodium, sodium lauryl sulfate class K12, colloidal anhydrous silica and magnesium stearate.

Capsule shell supplements: gelatin; red iron oxide (E172); and yellow iron oxide (E172).

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Strepsils cough medicine is in the form of hard capsules to be swallowed.

The recommended dosage at the beginning of the treatment is three times a day, two capsules each. After improvement, the dose should be reduced to one capsule four times a day.

Do not use for longer than 5 days without consulting a doctor.

If you take more capsules than recommended, consult your doctor immediately.

If you miss a dose, take the next dose at the usual time. Do not take a double dose.

Contraindications

Strepsils cough medicine should not be used in people with active gastric and duodenal ulcers or in case of hypersensitivity to carbocisteine ​​or any of the excipients contained in the medicine.
