Starazolin Allergy is an antiallergic drug used for the eyes. Its action is to reduce the intensity of allergic reactions.
The drug Starazolin Allergy is intended for the treatment of eye symptoms (itching, tearing, redness, swelling of the eyelids and conjunctiva) in patients diagnosed with seasonal allergic conjunctivitis. The drug can only be used in adults. Allergic conjunctivitis. Some substances (allergens), such as pollen, house dust or animal hair can cause allergic reactions, manifested by itching, redness, tearing, and swelling of the surface of the eye (without visual disturbances). These symptoms occur suddenly, are acute and transient. They are often accompanied by a runny nose and sneezing or itching in the nose and ears. In the case of coexisting nasal symptoms (runny nose, sneezing, itching), administration of Starazolin Allergy to the eye reduces their intensity.
Composition
The active substance is olopatadine (in the form of olopatadine hydrochloride). Each ml of solution contains 1 mg of olopatadine (in the form of olopatadine hydrochloride). Excipients: sodium chloride, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, polysorbate 80, diluted hydrochloric acid (to adjust pH), highly purified water.
Action
Starazolin Allergy eye drops contain olopatadine, a substance that counteracts histamine (the main mediator of the allergic response in humans). The drug reduces the severity of the allergic reaction.
Indications
Starazolin Allergy eye drops are used to treat the eye symptoms of seasonal conjunctivitis. It manifests itself with tearing, itching and redness of the eyes, as well as swelling of the conjunctiva and eyelids. Allergic conjunctivitis may also be accompanied by a runny nose or sneezing, which Starazolin Allergy also reduces. The drug is intended for adults diagnosed with seasonal allergic conjunctivitis.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Administer the drops into the conjunctival sac. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying the medication and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back on.
The recommended dosage of Starazolin Allergy in adults is 1 drop in the eye/eyes 2 times a day (morning and evening). The interval between subsequent doses of the drug is at least 8 hours.
The treatment time is up to two weeks. If there is no improvement or symptoms worsen within 3 days of starting the medication, consult a doctor. If necessary, treatment can be continued for up to four months after consulting a doctor. The medication should not be used for longer than 4 months.
Contraindications
Do not use Starazolin Allergy drops in people who are allergic to olopatadine or any of the other ingredients of the drug.
Adverse reactions
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Stop treatment and call your doctor immediately if you experience any symptoms of a hypersensitivity reaction, including difficulty breathing, swelling of the throat or face. If you have a severe allergic reaction, you may need immediate emergency treatment.
