Sirupus pini compositus, syrup, 125 g

Sirupus Pini compositus is a complex preparation containing codeine phosphate with antitussive action and plant-derived substances: pine liquid extract and fennel tincture. Codeine phosphate contained in the product inhibits central cough reflexes, reducing the intensity of cough.

The syrup is used occasionally for dry, tiring cough associated with inflammation of the upper respiratory tract.

Qualitative and quantitative composition of active substances:

100 g of syrup contains: Pini extractum fluidum (liquid pine extract – 1:1) – 6.6 g; Foeniculi tinctura (fennel fruit tincture – 4.5-5:1) – 1.0 g; Codeini phosphas hemihydricus (codeine phosphate hemihydrate) – 0.05 g.

Take orally.

• Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 15 ml 3 times a day.
• Children under 12 years of age: Sirupus Pini compositus is contraindicated in children under 12 years of age.
• Adolescents aged 12 to 18 years: Sirupus Pini compositus is not recommended for use in adolescents aged 12 to 18 years with respiratory disorders.

• If you are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
• If the patient is under 12 years of age.
• If you know that you metabolize codeine to morphine very quickly.
• If you are breastfeeding.
• Do not use the syrup during an acute attack of bronchial asthma, in acute respiratory failure, emphysema, or in chronic constipation.
• It is not recommended to use the drug in respiratory diseases associated with retention of thick secretion in the bronchial tree and difficult expectoration.
• Long-term use of the drug, especially in high doses, may lead to addiction. For this reason, it is not recommended to use it for longer than 7 days and to exceed the recommended doses.
