Xylogel 0.05% gel contains xylometazoline hydrochloride. Applied to the nasal mucosa, it causes narrowing of blood vessels, reduces swelling and congestion of the nasopharyngeal mucosa and reduces the amount of secretion, i.e. relieves runny nose. Additionally, the drug, due to the fact that it is in the form of a gel, moisturizes the nasal mucosa and does not drip to the bottom of the nasal cavity and into the throat. Xylogel 0.05% is intended for use in children aged 3 to 12 years.
Indications
Ancillary treatment:
- acute inflammation of the nasal mucosa of viral or bacterial origin;
- acute or chronic exacerbation of paranasal sinusitis;
- allergic rhinitis;
- acute otitis media – to unblock the Eustachian tube.

Composition
1 g of nasal gel contains: | 0.5 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride (Xylometazolini hydrochloridum) |
Excipient: benzalkonium chloride, solution. |
Dosage
Intranasal administration.
Xylogel 0.05% is intended for use in children aged 3 to 12 years.
1 dose contains 0.05 mg of xylometazoline hydrochloride.
Children aged 3 to 12 years: 1 dose of gel in each nostril every 8 to 10 hours.
Xylogel 0.05% should not be used for longer than 3 to 5 days.
For hygienic reasons, the drug package should only be used by one patient.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the product.
Do not use in patients after removal of the pituitary gland or other surgical procedures involving exposure of the dura mater.
Atrophic rhinitis.
