Description
SolvetusanĀ contains the active substance levodropropizine, which hasĀ antitussive and bronchospasm-relieving effects.
Indications
Solvetusan is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of non-productive (dry) cough.
Much data indicates that this drug is effective in suppressing cough of various origins, such as cough associated with lung cancer, cough associated with upper and lower respiratory tract infections, and whooping cough.
If after 7 days there is no improvement or the patient feels worse, contact your doctor.
Composition
Active substance | The active substance is levodropropizin.
10 ml of syrup contains 60 mg of levodropropizine. |
Other ingredients | sucrose, citric acid monohydrate, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216), cherry flavour (ethyl acetate, isoamyl acetate, benzaldehyde, benzyl alcohol, eugenol, vanillin, ethanol, propylene glycol), sodium hydroxide, 32% solution, purified water |
Dosage
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not take Solvetusan for more than 7 days without consulting your doctor.
Recommended dose
- Children over 2 years of age
10-20 kg: 3 ml of syrup 3 times a day;
21-30 kg: 5 ml of syrup 3 times a day.
- Adults
10 ml of syrup up to 3 times a day.
How to use:
Solvetusan should be taken orally, 3 times a day at least 6 hours apart.
The syrup bottle comes with a measuring cup that allows you to measure the dose of the medicine, including 3, 5 and 10 ml.
The bottle is equipped with an additional safety feature, which is a cap with a child-proof lock. To open the bottle, press the cap and turn it in the direction indicated by the arrow.
Treatment should be continued until the cough subsides or as directed by your doctor.
In any case, if the cough does not subside after 7 days of treatment, it is recommended to stop taking the medicine and consult a doctor. It should be remembered that cough is a symptom of a disease and the disease that causes it should be recognized and then treated.
Use of the drug in children and adolescents
Contraindications
When not to take Solvetusan:
- if you are allergic to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
- in people with abundant bronchial secretions and impaired function of the cilia of the bronchial epithelium (Kartagener syndrome, ciliary dyskinesia);
- in pregnant and breastfeeding women.
