Septogard aerosol is intended for the local treatment of symptoms of inflammation in the mouth and throat accompanied by pain.
The medicinal product is used to treat various painful conditions in the mouth and throat, such as mouth ulcers, sore throat, pain in the mouth, gum pain or toothache.
Active substance: Benzydamine hydrochloride
Composition
The active substance is benzydamine hydrochloride (1.5 mg per 1 ml of the drug). Each dose of the spray contains 0.225 mg of benzydamine hydrochloride.
The other ingredients are: glycerol, ethanol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), sodium saccharin (E954), sodium bicarbonate, polysorbate 20, mint flavor SC-5230-AT (maltodextrin and menthol), purified water.
Dosage
Do not apply Septogard to or near the eyes. If a dose of the spray gets into the eye, rinse it immediately with cold water.
The dose should be sprayed directly onto the affected area of the mouth or throat as follows:
- adults, elderly people and children over 12 years of age: 4 to 8 doses of spray, no more often than every 1.5 – 3 hours;
- children (6-12 years): 4 spray doses, no more often than every 1.5 – 3 hours;
- children under 6 years of age: 1 dose of spray for every 4 kg of body weight, maximum 4 doses, no more often than every 1.5 – 3 hours.
You should contact your doctor, dentist or pharmacist if your symptoms worsen or your condition does not improve.
Contraindications
When not to use Septogard:
- if you are allergic to the active substance benzydamine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
