PARAMIG Fast, 500 mg, granules in sachet

Description

Paramig Fast contains paracetamol as an active substance. Paracetamol belongs to the pharmacotherapeutic group of analgesics (painkillers), which also act as antipyretics (antipyretics) with a weak anti-inflammatory effect.

Do not use Paramig Fast for more than three days without consulting a doctor.

Indication

Paramig Fast is used for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and fever.

Use

Always take Paramig Fast exactly as described in this leaflet. If you are not sure, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Doses used in children depend on age and body weight. A single dose is 10 mg/kg body weight every 4 hours or 15 mg/kg body weight every 6 hours. The maximum daily dose is 60 mg/kg body weight. The interval between individual doses should not be shorter than 4 hours. Do not use Paramig Fast for longer than three days without a doctor’s recommendation.

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age (body weight > 40 kg)

  • Single dose 500-1000 mg (1-2 sachets every 4-6 hours), maximum daily dose 3000 mg paracetamol (6 sachets). Leave at least 4 hours between doses.

Children aged 8 to 12 years (weight 26-40 kg)

  • Single dose 500 mg (1 sachet) every 4-6 hours, maximum daily dose 1500 mg paracetamol (3 sachets). Leave at least 4 hours between doses.

For oral use only. The granules should be taken directly into the mouth (on the tongue) and swallowed without water. The granules dissolve immediately in the mouth, and the slight effervescent effect of the medicinal product causes increased salivation, making swallowing easier. Do not take Paramig Fast after a meal.

Adverse reactions

Like all medicines, Paramig Fast can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. If you experience any of the following symptoms, stop taking it and talk to your doctor immediately:

rare (may affect less than 1 in 1,000 people):

  • itching, rash, sweating, purpura, angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, throat, difficulty breathing), hives, swelling,
  • bleeding,
  • abdominal pain,
  • diarrhea, nausea,
  • vomiting,
  • liver failure,
  • liver necrosis, jaundice,
  • acute and chronic pancreatitis (severe lower abdominal pain, vomiting, flatulence, fever, muscle pain, diarrhea, itching),

very rare (may affect less than 1 in 10,000 people):

  • severe skin reactions (rash with spots all over the body or sores in the mouth, eyes, genitals and skin, red spots on the body, often with blisters inside, blisters that burst, large flaking skin patches, weakness, fever and joint pain).

Other rare side effects (may affect less than 1 in 1,000 people):

  • anemia,
  • non-hemolytic anemia and bone marrow suppression,
  • thrombocytopenia (reduction in the number of platelets, nose and gum bleeding, bruising),
  • kidney disease.

Paracetamol is a widely used drug and reports of side effects are rare and usually related to overdose. Nephrotoxic effects are rare and have not been reported with therapeutic doses except in cases of long-term use. If any of the side effects get worse or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

Warnings and precautions

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Paramig Fast if you have:

  • liver dysfunction, including Gilbert’s syndrome (familial hyperbilirubinemia),
  • severe kidney or liver dysfunction,
  • alcoholism,
  • anorexia, bulimia or cachexia, long-term malnutrition,
  • low reserves of glutathione in the liver, e.g. eating disorders, cystic fibrosis, HIV infection, starvation or cachexia, sepsis,
  • dehydration of the body,
  • hypovolemia.

Do not exceed the recommended dose of the drug. Long-term or frequent use of the drug is not recommended. Do not take other drugs containing paracetamol at the same time. Taking multiples of the daily dose at once can cause severe liver damage. In such a case, there is no loss of consciousness, but immediate medical help is necessary. Prolonged use of the drug without medical supervision can be harmful. In children treated with paracetamol at a daily dose of 60 mg/kg, concomitant administration of another antipyretic drug is not justified, unless the use of paracetamol alone is ineffective.

Use of other medications

Medicines that may interfere with the action of Paramig Fast:

  • probenecid, a drug used to treat gout (podagra);
  • – drugs that can potentially damage the liver, such as phenobarbital (sleeping pills), phenytoin, carbamazepine, primidone (anti-epileptic drugs) and rifampicin (used to treat tuberculosis). Taking these drugs at the same time as paracetamol can cause liver damage; – metoclopramide and domperidone (used to treat nausea). These drugs can speed up the absorption and onset of action of paracetamol;
  • drugs that slow stomach emptying. These drugs may delay the absorption and onset of action of paracetamol;
  • Cholestyramine (used to lower elevated serum lipid levels) may reduce the absorption and delay the onset of action of paracetamol. Therefore, cholestyramine should not be taken within the first hour after administration of paracetamol;
  • medicines that thin the blood (oral anticoagulants, especially warfarin).

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine.

Pregnancy Paramig Fast can be given to pregnant women if necessary. The lowest possible dose that effectively relieves pain or lowers fever should be used and the medicine should be taken for the shortest possible time.

Breastfeeding The drug passes into breast milk. Therapeutic doses of this drug may be used during breastfeeding.

Driving vehicles and machinery

Paramig Fast has no effect on the ability to drive or operate machinery.

This is a medicine. For safety, use it according to the leaflet included in the package. Do not exceed the maximum dose of the medicine. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
