The active substance of Otrivin Qatar i Zatoki is xylometazoline hydrochloride . Otrivin Qatar i Zatoki nasal spray is a locally acting drug that reduces congestion and swelling of the nasal mucosa.
Indications
Otrivin Katar i Zatoki nasal spray is indicated for use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
Otrivin Qatar i Zatoki is used for excessive nasal congestion occurring during colds, hay fever, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis. By reducing the congestion of the nasopharyngeal mucosa, the drug can be used as an adjunct in otitis media.
Otrivin Qatar i Zatoki facilitates nasal endoscopy (examination of the nasal cavity). Otrivin Qatar i Zatoki does not contain preservatives.

Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Otrivin Katar i Zatoki should not be used in children under 12 years of age.
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 1 dose of Otrivin Katar i Zatoki spray into each nostril 3 times a day. It is recommended to take the last dose of the medicine immediately before going to bed.
Do not use more than 3 times daily in each nostril.
How to use
The medicine is intended for nasal use. Be careful not to spray the spray into the eyes.
- Clear your nose.
- Remove the protective cap.
- Do not cut the applicator tip.
- Before first administration, press the pump 4 times. The pump will be ready for further use for the entire recommended period of use. If the aerosol does not spray after fully pressing the pump, or if the product has not been used for more than 6 days, the pump should be primed again by pressing 4 times. Do not spray towards the eyes or mouth.
- The bottle should be held upright with your thumb supporting the bottom of the bottle and the tip placed between two fingers.
- Tilt your head forward and place the tip into your nostril.
- Press the pump and at the same time inhale air through your nose.
- Repeat the steps to administer the medication into the other nostril.
- After use, clean and dry the dispenser tip and put on the protective cap.

Use of the drug in children and adolescents

Contraindications
Do not use Otrivin Cold and Sinus:
- if you are allergic to xylometazoline hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
- if you have had surgery performed through the nose, such as removal of the pituitary gland or surgery involving exposure of the dura mater (brain surgery performed through the nose or mouth);
- if you have narrow-angle glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye);
- if you have very dry nasal mucosa (rhinitis sicca or atrophic rhinitis).
