What is Nurofen Sinus and how does it work?
Nurofen Sinuses is a medicine in the form of coated tablets containing 200 mg of ibuprofen and 30 mg of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride . The medicine has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects. It unclogs the nose and paranasal sinuses.

What are the indications for use of Nurofen Sinus?
To relieve symptoms of nasal and sinus congestion with headache, pain due to sinus congestion and fever associated with flu or cold.

Composition of Nurofen Sinus tablets
The active substances of the drug are ibuprofen and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride – 1 coated tablet contains: ibuprofen 200 mg, pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 30 mg.
Excipients are:
- tablet core: calcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate;
- coating ingredients: hypromellose, talc, Opaspray Yellow M-IF-6168 (hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E 171), quinoline yellow (E 104) lake, sunset yellow (E 110) lake) or Mastercote Yellow FA 0156 (hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E 171), quinoline yellow (E 104) lake, sunset yellow (E 110) lake);
- printing ink: Opacode S-1-277001 (shellac, black iron oxide (E 172), propylene glycol).
How to dose and use Nurofen Zatoki tablets?
- Adults and children over 12 years of age: starting dose is 2 tablets. Then, if necessary, one to two tablets every 4 to 6 hours. Do not take more than six tablets (1200 mg ibuprofen and 180 mg pseudoephedrine hydrochloride) in 24 hours.
- Children and adolescents: This medicine should not be given to children under 12 years of age.
- In adolescents aged 12-18 years, a doctor should be consulted if the medicinal product is required for more than 3 days or if symptoms worsen.
- For short-term use only. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms. If symptoms persist or worsen during the course of infection (such as fever and pain), consult a doctor immediately.
- The medicine should be administered orally.
- Do not use this medicine for longer than 3 days without consulting your doctor.
- Taking the medication at the lowest effective dose for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms reduces the risk of side effects.
Always take Nurofen Zatoki exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
When should you not use Nurofen Sinus?
- if you are allergic to ibuprofen, pseudoephedrine, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine and to other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs;
- if you have ever had allergic reactions (e.g. urticaria, angioedema, rhinitis or bronchial asthma) after taking ibuprofen, acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs;
- in patients with active gastric and/or duodenal ulcer, or a history of perforation or bleeding, including those occurring after the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs;
- if you have severe liver failure, severe kidney failure or severe heart failure;
- in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma;
- in patients with urinary retention;
- in patients with hyperthyroidism;
- in patients with bleeding diathesis;
- in patients with a history of hemorrhagic stroke;
- in patients with risk factors that may increase the likelihood of haemorrhagic stroke, for example those taking vasoconstrictor drugs or other oral or nasal decongestants;
- in pregnant and breastfeeding patients;
- in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days of stopping treatment.
Notes on use
Nurofen Zatoki contains quinoline yellow (E 104) and sunset yellow (E 110).
The drug may cause allergic reactions.
