Nurofen for children Forte in the form of an oral suspension with an orange flavor is characterized primarily by a formula that provides an appropriately strong effect thanks to the concentrated content of Ibuprofen, which makes the child take less liquid to swallow. Additionally, it has a very convenient and precise syringe in administration, which ensures safety in terms of the amount of the drug.
Ibuprofen, the active substance in Nurofen for children Forte, belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These medicines work by changing the body’s response to pain, inflammation and increased body temperature.

Nurofen for children Forte – composition
The active substance is ibuprofen. Each 1 ml of oral suspension contains 40 mg of ibuprofen.
The other ingredients are: citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, sodium chloride, sodium saccharin, polysorbate 80, domiphen bromide, liquid maltitol, glycerol, xanthan gum, orange flavour 2M16014 (modified starch, gum arabic, maltodextrin, natural and nature-identical flavouring substances) and purified water.
Nurofen for children Forte – dosage
Before use, read the leaflet, which contains indications, contraindications, data on adverse effects and dosage, and information on the use of the medicinal product, or consult a doctor or pharmacist, as any drug used improperly may threaten your life or health.
The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms. If symptoms of infection (such as fever and pain) persist or worsen, consult a doctor immediately. The recommended dose for pain and fever is:

*Doses should be administered approximately every 6 to 8 hours.
- In patients with a sensitive stomach it is recommended that Nurofen for Children Forte Orange be taken with a meal.
- This medicine is for short-term use only. If symptoms persist for more than 3 days in a child older than 6 months, or the patient feels worse, a doctor should be consulted.
- For infants aged 3-5 months (weighing 5 kg or more), seek medical advice if symptoms do not improve after 24 hours.
- If symptoms worsen, consult your doctor.
Always use Nurofen for children Forte orange exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
When should you not use Nurofen for Children Forte?
- If your child is allergic to ibuprofen or other similar pain relievers (NSAIDs) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
- If you have ever had shortness of breath, asthma, a runny nose, swelling of the face and/or hands or hives after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other similar painkillers (NSAIDs).
- If you have ever had gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, related to previous NSAID therapy.
- If you have or have had a stomach and/or duodenal ulcer (peptic ulcer) or bleeding (two or more proven episodes of ulceration or bleeding).
- If you have severe liver and kidney failure.
- If you have severe heart failure.
- If you have bleeding in the brain (cerebrovascular bleeding) or other active bleeding.
- If you have blood clotting disorders, as ibuprofen may prolong bleeding time.
- If you have blood production disorders of undetermined origin.
- In children with severe dehydration (caused by vomiting, diarrhea or insufficient fluid intake).
- Do not take this medicine in the last 3 months of pregnancy.
