Action
- Stimulates the removal of secretions in the lower respiratory tract due to an osmotic effect, for example in the case of cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, bronchiolitis.
- Prevents drying of bronchial mucus.
Composition
Sodium chloride: 3 g, purified water qs 100 ml, no preservatives.
How to use
- Detach the ampoule and open it by unscrewing the top.
- Pour the inhalation solution into the nebulizer.
- The nebulizer should be used according to the manufacturer’s instructions supplied with the device.
Dosage
It is recommended to use one single-dose ampoule of hypertonic 3% NaCl solution for inhalation 2 – 4 times a day.
Contraindications
If you have a tendency to develop shortness of breath or hypersensitivity, do not use the inhalation solution without medical supervision.

- Before use, check that the single-dose ampoule is not damaged. Do not use a damaged ampoule.
- Follow the nebulizer manufacturer’s instructions for use.
- Do not mix with other medications.
- Once a single-dose ampoule has been opened, it must not be reused because the preparation does not contain preservatives. Reusing the ampoule may lead to the risk of administering a contaminated solution.
Notes on use
Hypertonic 3% NaCl solution for inhalation can be used with pneumatic or ultrasonic nebulizers.
Adverse reactions
In rare cases, transient irritation (e.g. cough) or reversible bronchoconstriction may occur. Initial treatment with bronchodilators is recommended.
If side effects occur, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor or pharmacist.
