Essensey Collagen + Vitamin C  is a dietary supplement in the form of capsules containing collagen and vitamin C.

What is collagen?

To explain what collagen is, we must start with the fact that it is the most common structural protein. Collagen is the basic component of the extracellular matrix of connective tissue. To date, 28 different types of collagen have been identified in vertebrates and higher invertebrates. Of these types, type I collagen is the most abundant in vertebrates. It combines with other molecules in varying proportions to form various tissue scaffolds, such as basement membranes, ligaments, tendons, skin, and blood vessels, where it gives them mechanical load-bearing properties.  Fibrils  (i.e. fibrils that occur in muscle cells, among others) combine with other collagen and non-collagen molecules, such as proteoglycans, to form fibril bundles and fibers, which then combine with each other to form tissue scaffolds.

Ingredients: SOLUGEL® type I collagen hydrolysate (74.7%), capsule shell (glazing agent – hydroxypropylmethylcellulose), vitamin C [L-ascorbic acid (4.5%)], anti-caking agent (magnesium salts of fatty acids).

May contain the unintentional presence of milk derivatives, soy, cereals containing gluten, eggs, peanuts and other nuts.

Recommended intake/preparation method:

Take 2 capsules daily, without chewing, with an appropriate amount of liquid, preferably 30 minutes before a meal.
