Mensil Max 50 mg, 4 chewable tablets

Mensil Max is a drug containing the active substance sildenafil , which belongs to the group of drugs from the group of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. The drug works by supporting the relaxation of blood vessels in the penis, increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual arousal.

Sildenafil helps achieve an erection only if you are sexually stimulated.

Treatment of erectile dysfunction in adult men, i.e. impotence defined as the inability to achieve or maintain an erection of the penis sufficient for sexual intercourse.

The active substance of the drug is sildenafil. One tablet of the drug contains 50 mg of sildenafil (as citrate).

Other ingredients (excipients) are: potassium polacrilin, colloidal anhydrous silica, lactose monohydrate, povidone K-30, aspartame (E 951), croscarmellose sodium, mint flavour, magnesium stearate, potassium hydroxide (to adjust pH), hydrochloric acid (to adjust pH).

• If you have previously used medicines containing sildenafil at a dose of 50 mg or more, the recommended dose is 50 mg.
• Otherwise, Mensil Max 50 mg should only be used if the patient did not experience the desired effect after using sildenafil 25 mg (i.e. did not obtain an erection sufficient for intercourse).
• If the use of a medicine containing sildenafil at a lower dose (25 mg) allowed you to obtain an erection suitable for sexual intercourse, the 50 mg dose should not be used.
• Mensil Max should not be used more than once a day.
• Do not take Mensil Max together with other medicines containing sildenafil.
• Mensil Max should be taken about an hour before planned sexual activity. The tablet should be crushed and chewed. If you feel that the effect of Mensil Max is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
• Mensil Max only allows you to achieve an erection if you are sexually stimulated. The time it takes for Mensil Max to work varies from person to person, usually from half an hour to one hour. Mensil Max may work later if you take it after a heavy meal.
• You should contact your doctor if Mensil Max does not help you get an erection, or if your erection does not last long enough for you to complete sexual intercourse.
• Mensil Max should not be used by people under 18 years of age.

Always use Mensil Max exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

• if you are allergic to sildenafil or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
• if you are taking nitrates, as the combination may lead to a dangerous fall in your blood pressure. Tell your doctor if you are taking any medicines from this group – these medicines are often given for the relief of angina pectoris (“chest pain”). If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist;
• if you are taking medicines that release nitric oxide (such as amyl nitrite, so-called poppers), as taking them together may also lead to a dangerous decrease in blood pressure;
• if you are taking riociguat. This is a medicine used to treat pulmonary hypertension (i.e. high blood pressure in the lungs) and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (i.e. high pressure in the lungs caused by blood clots). PDE5 inhibitors such as MENSIL MAX have been shown to enhance the blood pressure lowering effect of this medicine. If you are taking riociguat or are not sure, tell your doctor;
• if you have severe heart or liver disease;
• if you have recently had a stroke or heart attack or if you have low blood pressure;
• if you have hereditary degenerative changes to the retina, such as retinitis pigmentosa;
• if you have ever had loss of vision due to non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION).
