Inuprin Forte syrup for children over 1 year of age and adults is an over-the-counter drug used in people with weakened immunity, in the case of recurrent upper respiratory tract infections , and in the treatment of cold sores on the lips and facial skin caused by the herpes simplex virus.
Contains inosine pranobex – an active substance with double action, which has antiviral effects, combating the cause of upper respiratory tract infections, and stimulates the functions of the immune system , contributing to increased body resistance. It also inhibits the multiplication of pathogenic viruses from the Herpes group.
Indications
- Supportively in people with reduced immunity, in case of recurrent upper respiratory tract infections.
- In the treatment of cold sores on the lips and face caused by the herpes simplex virus – Inuprin Forte can only be used in patients who have previously been diagnosed with a herpes simplex infection.
Composition
1 ml of syrup contains:
- active substance: inosine pranobex 100 mg/ml,
- other ingredients: sucrose, glycerol (E422), propylene glycol (E1520), methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), raspberry flavour AR0616/G: flavouring substances, flavouring preparation, propylene glycol (E1520), sodium hydroxide, citric acid, purified water.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you have any further questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
- The medicine should be administered orally.
- The recommended dose is determined based on the patient’s body weight.
- The daily dose should be divided into equal single doses administered several times a day.
Adults, including the elderly (over 65 years of age):
- The recommended daily dose is 50 mg/kg body weight per day (0.5 ml of syrup per 1 kg body weight per day), usually 3 g (i.e. 30 ml of syrup) per day, given in 3 or 4 divided doses.
- The maximum dose is 4 g of inosine pranobex per day (i.e. 40 ml of syrup per day).
- Do not exceed the maximum dose of 40 ml per day.
Children over 1 year of age:
- The usual recommended dose is 50 mg/kg body weight per day (0.5 ml of syrup per 1 kg body weight per day) in 3 or 4 equally divided doses during the day.
Contraindications
- Allergy to the active substance (inosine pranobex) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Symptoms of an allergic reaction may include: skin rash, itching, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, throat or tongue.
- Current attack of gout (manifested by severe joint pain with swelling and redness of the skin or effusion in large joints) or increased blood uric acid levels shown in current study tests.
- This medicine should not be used in children under 1 year of age.
