Ibuprofen Aflofarm – properties and action
Ibuprofen Aflofarm in tablets is an analgesic , antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drug . It belongs to a group of drugs called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The drug contains the active substance ibuprofen.
Ibuprofen Aflofarm – indications
- moderate or mild pain: toothache, joint pain, muscle pain, painful menstruation, headaches (including migraine headaches),
- pain associated with flu and colds,
- feverish conditions of various origins (including influenza, colds or other infectious diseases).
Active substance: Ibuprofen
Composition
The active substance is ibuprofen. 1 coated tablet contains 200 mg of ibuprofen.
The other ingredients are: hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate type A, corn starch, colloidal anhydrous silica, gum arabic, sucrose, talc, titanium dioxide (E 171), a mixture of white beeswax and carnauba wax (Capol 1295).
Dosage of Ibuprofen Aflofarm
A drug for oral use.
Without consulting your doctor, do not take Ibuprofen Aflofarm for longer than:
- 3 days for pain and fever;
- 2 days for a cold or flu.
Recommended dose
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age
- initial dose 1 to 2 tablets, then if necessary 1 to 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours. The tablets should be taken with water.
- Do not use more than 6 tablets (1200 mg ibuprofen) in 24 hours.
- Do not use in children under 12 years of age.
When not to take Ibuprofen Aflofarm
- if you are allergic to ibuprofen and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) including acetylsalicylic acid or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
- if you have had shortness of breath, asthma, a runny nose or hives after taking acetylsalicylic acid (such as aspirin) or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, because Ibuprofen Aflofarm may cause similar side effects in these patients;
- if you have ever had a hole (perforation) in the wall of your stomach or intestine, related to the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs);
- if you have or have ever had a stomach or duodenal ulcer or bleeding ulcer;
- if you have severe liver or kidney failure;
- if you have severe heart failure; – if you are taking other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, including COX-2 inhibitors such as celecoxib or etoricoxib;
- if the patient is in the third trimester of pregnancy;
- if you have a bleeding disorder (blood clotting disorder);
- in children under 12 years of age.
