Hitaxa Fast Kids – what is this medicine?
Hitaxa Fast Kids is an antiallergic drug that helps control allergic reactions and their symptoms. It is a clear, colorless oral solution with a fruity scent.
The medicine is intended for children over 2 years of age, adolescents and adults. It does not cause drowsiness.
In what situations is Hitaxa Fast Kids used?
Hitaxa Fast Kids relieves symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis (inflammation of the nasal mucosa caused by an allergy, for example hay fever or allergy to dust mites). Symptoms of this condition include: sneezing, itchy or runny nose, itchy palate, and itchy, red or watery eyes.
The medicine is also used to relieve symptoms associated with urticaria (a skin condition caused by an allergy). Symptoms of this condition include itching and hives.
The relief from these symptoms lasts all day, making it easier to return to daily activities and normal sleep.
Active substance: Desloratadine
Hitaxa Fast Kids – composition
The active substance is desloratadine. One ml of oral solution contains 0.5 mg of desloratadine.
The other ingredients are: hypromellose type 2910, sucralose (E 955), citric acid, anhydrous, sodium citrate, liquid sorbitol, non-crystallising (E 420), propylene glycol (E 1520), Tutti Frutti flavour, liquid (propylene glycol, flavouring substances), purified water.
How to use Hitaxa Fast Kids?
Recommended dose
- Adults and adolescents 12 years of age and over: 10 ml (2 5 ml measuring spoons) of oral solution once daily.
Use in children
If you are underweight or overweight, it is recommended to consult your doctor to adjust the dosage.
- Children over 2 to 5 years of age: 2.5 ml (half a 5 ml measuring spoon) of oral solution once daily. In children aged 2 to 5 years, Hitaxa Fast Kids can only be used after previous diagnosis of allergy.
- Children 6 to 11 years of age: 5 ml (one 5 ml measuring spoon) of oral solution once daily.
Directions for use: Swallow the oral solution dose and then drink some water. The medicine can be taken with or without food. The oral solution bottle comes with a measuring spoon that can be used to measure the appropriate volume of oral solution.
Duration of treatment with Hitaxa Fast Kids: If after 3 days there is no improvement or the patient feels worse, contact your doctor. Treatment of allergic rhinitis and urticaria with desloratadine without medical consultation should not last longer than 10 days.
Use of the drug in children and adolescents
Hitaxa Fast Kids should not be given to children under 2 years of age.
When not to use Hitaxa Fast Kids?
Hitaxa Fast Kids should not be used if you are allergic to desloratadine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine or to loratadine.
