Fenistil gel applied to the skin has a local effect:
- antiallergic,
- strongly antipruritic (excluding cholestatic pruritus),
- reduces swelling,
- soothes irritations.
Fenistil gel has local anesthetic properties . It cools, which additionally soothes irritated skin.
Fenistil gel 1 mg/ml contains the active substance dimethindene maleate , which inhibits the action of histamine – a compound responsible for allergic reactions.
Indications
Fenistil gel is used in case of:
- itching accompanying dermatoses,
- hives,
- insect bites,
- sunburn,
- superficial skin burns (first degree).
Active substance: Dimethindeni maleas
Composition
One gram of gel contains: | 1 mg dimethindene maleate. |
The other ingredients of the drug are: benzalkonium chloride, sodium edetate, carbomer (carbopol 974 P), sodium hydroxide 30%, propylene glycol, purified water. |
Dosage
Always use Fenistil gel exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The medicine is intended for application to the skin.
Usually, unless your doctor tells you otherwise, the medicine should be applied 2 to 4 times a day, covering the affected and itchy skin area with a thin layer of gel.

- for second and third degree burns.
