Calcium-Sandoz + Vitamin C, 10 effervescent tablets

Calcium is a basic mineral element that influences the maintenance of the electrolyte balance of the body, which is necessary for its proper functioning. Calcium is an important component of bone tissue and is necessary for its proper development, as well as for the proper functioning of the nervous system, muscles, heart, and proper blood clotting. Calcium also mediates the action of hormones, by reducing the permeability of blood vessel walls, it has an anti-edematous and anti-exudative effect.

Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) belongs to the group of water-soluble vitamins and plays an important role in biological processes. It takes part in oxidation and reduction processes, is necessary for the production of collagen, cartilage, dentin, elastin, tissue reconstruction and detoxification of the body. Large doses of vitamin C (up to 1 g per day) are effective in the prevention and treatment of upper respiratory tract infections.

Calcium and ascorbic acid deficiencies may be the result of improper nutrition or increased demand by the body.

Increased demand for calcium and vitamin C:

• in the period of decreased body immunity,
• in the course of infectious diseases,
• during the period of convalescence.

Treatment of the consequences of calcium and vitamin C deficiencies. 

Supportive in the treatment of colds and flu.

In people who smoke cigarettes.

Active substances are: calcium lactogluconate, calcium carbonate and ascorbic acid. One effervescent tablet contains: 1.0 g calcium lactogluconate + 0.327 g calcium carbonate (totalling 260 mg or 6.5 mmol of ionized calcium) and 1.0 g ascorbic acid. Other ingredients are: sodium saccharin, macrogol 4000, sucrose, sodium hydrogen carbonate, anhydrous citric acid, beta-carotene, bitter flavour (Grade PO 430/02), lemon flavour (Grade 987.323 PO5.51).

Dissolve the effervescent tablet in a glass of water. Adults and children over 7 years of age: 1 effervescent tablet once daily. Children from 3 to 7 years of age: ½ effervescent tablet once daily. Infants: as directed by your doctor.

• if you are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine,
• if you have diseases and/or conditions that cause increased calcium levels in the blood (hypercalcaemia) and/or increased calcium excretion in the urine (hypercalciuria),
• if you have renal calcification or nephrolithiasis (including oxalate stones), 
• if the patient has been diagnosed with sideroblastic anemia, hemochromatosis (a disease that causes excessive absorption of iron from food, with possible damage to internal organs), congenital deficiency of the enzyme glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase in red blood cells.
