Calcium Hasco is a medicine containing calcium salts . Calcium is a building block of the body and plays an important role in many physiological processes (maintaining proper blood clotting, muscle contractility, nerve conduction, cell membrane function).
Calcium also reduces the permeability of blood vessel walls, acting anti-exudatively and anti-edematously.
Calcium crosses the placenta and into breast milk.
Indications
Indications for use:
- prevention and supplementation of calcium deficiency in the body, e.g. during pregnancy or breastfeeding,
- treatment of osteoporosis,
- supporting the treatment of allergy symptoms.
Active substance: Calcium glubionas , Calcium lactobionas

Other ingredients (excipients) are: sucrose, sodium benzoate (E 211), citric acid monohydrate (E 330), strawberry flavour, purified water. |
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
This medicine is for oral use.
Adults: 15 ml 2 or 3 times a day.
Children: up to 6 years: 5 ml 2 or 3 times a day, from 6 to 12 years: 10 ml 2 or 3 times a day.
The medicine should be measured using the measuring cup provided.
If you feel that the effect of Calcium Hasco is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Contraindications
When not to use Calcium Hasco:
- if you are allergic to the active substances (calcium salts) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
- if you have high levels of calcium in your blood (hypercalcaemia, e.g. in patients with hyperparathyroidism, severe renal failure, or vitamin D overdose);
- if you have increased excretion of calcium in your urine (hypercalciuria);
- if you have severe kidney failure or kidney stones;
- if you have atrioventricular block.
Notes on use
Calcium Hasco contains sucrose.
If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.
Calcium Hasco syrup contains 0.3 g of sucrose in 1 ml (i.e. approximately 1.5 g in 5 ml).
