Biotin
Its other names are vitamin H or B7. The name “biotin” comes from the Greek word “biotos” meaning “life”.[3]
Biotin Functions
Biotin supports the maintenance of normal energy metabolism and helps in the proper functioning of the nervous system.[1] However, it is best known for its support for healthy hair and skin[1], which is why it is a popular ingredient in cosmetic products.[3]
Zinc
Zinc helps maintain healthy hair, skin and nails, takes part in metabolic processes and supports the immune system. [1] Additionally, it has antioxidant properties. [1]
Sources of zinc
Zinc is a widely distributed trace element in the human body, but it cannot be stored in large quantities, so it requires regular intake from food. Zinc is found in plant and animal products – the latter is more easily absorbed. [4] Zinc is also available in the form of dietary supplements.
Horsetail
Horsetail herb is a rich source of compounds with beneficial properties for the body – polyphenols, saponins, organic acids and plant sterols. [5] Horsetail is particularly valued for its content of easily absorbable silica. [5] Silica contained in horsetail helps maintain hair, nails and skin in optimal condition [2]
Vitamin C
Vitamin C helps in the proper production of collagen to ensure the proper functioning of bones, cartilage, skin, teeth, gums and blood vessels.[1]
