What is Alopexy and how does it work?
The drug Alopexy 50 mg/ml , in the form of a solution contains the active substance minoxidil, is recommended in certain cases of androgenic alopecia (excessive hair loss) of moderate severity in men .
What are the indications for using Alopexy?
Moderate male pattern baldness (alopecia androgenetica) in men.
Note: Alopexy is not recommended for use in women due to limited efficacy and high incidence (37% of cases) of excess hair outside the application sites.

How to use Alopexy?
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Recommended dose
Typically, a dose of 1 ml is applied to the treated scalp area twice daily. The daily dose should not exceed 2 ml, regardless of the size of the treated area.
Frequency of use
Apply 1 ml of solution in the morning and 1 ml of solution in the evening. Do not increase the dose or frequency of application. In all cases, the doses must be strictly observed.
Duration of treatment
The results of the treatment are not visible immediately: it may take some time after starting the treatment to stop hair loss and/or to see hair regrowth. In order to see hair growth stimulation, a treatment consisting of using the medicine twice a day for 2 months may be necessary.
The onset and degree of reaction varies in each patient.
Some reports suggest that return to baseline may be observed 3 or 4 months after discontinuation of therapy.
Route of administration
For cutaneous use. For external use. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying the solution to the scalp. Dry your hair and scalp thoroughly before applying the medicine. Apply the medicine with your fingertips to the entire area of skin to be treated, starting from the center of the area being treated. Do not apply the medicine to any other part of the body.
When should you not use Alopexy?
Do not use Alopexy
- If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance (minoxidil) or any of the other ingredients of Alopexy.
- If the patient has had poor tolerance to 2% minoxidil solution.
- If you have lesions on the scalp.
Notes on use
Alopexy contains propylene glycol which may cause skin irritation.
This medicine contains ethanol and is therefore flammable.
