Allegra is used in adults and children 12 years of age and older to treat the symptoms of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis), such as:
- sneezing,
- itchy nose,
- runny nose or feeling of nasal congestion,
- itching, redness and watery eyes.
Allegra contains fexofenadine hydrochloride , which is an antihistamine.
Indications
Symptomatic treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis and ophthalmitis.
The most common symptoms are: sneezing, itchy nose, runny or blocked nose, and itchy, red and watery eyes.

Dosage
Allegra dosage:
- Adults and children aged 12 years and older: The recommended dose of fexofenadine hydrochloride for adults and children aged 12 years and older is 120 mg once daily, before a meal. Fexofenadine is a pharmacologically active metabolite of terfenadine.
- Children under 12 years of age:The efficacy and safety of fexofenadine hydrochloride 120 mg have not been studied in children under 12 years of age.
High-risk groups:
Studies conducted in high-risk groups (elderly patients, patients with renal or hepatic impairment) have shown that it is not necessary to adjust the dosage of fexofenadine hydrochloride in these patient groups.
